Most people try to do too much all at once, get demoralized, and stop. Or they are so overwhelmed they are paralyzed and can’t even get started. That’s where a professional organizer comes in. I know where to start and how to exercise your “organizing muscles” little by little so you can eventually make the harder decisions and handle the more time-consuming and boring tasks (like paperwork!) Plus, you can get at least twice as much done, and it’s a lot more fun to have a professional working right alongside of you.

Downsizing and moving in with family or into a senior community, assisted living, or board and care home is a daunting experience, especially when you’ve lived for decades in your own home. I offer transition services to plan out the new space and help decide what you are taking and what to do with what you are leaving behind. Then I can arrange and supervise movers and get you settled in the new place. Afterwards, I can arrange an estate sale or facilitate clearing the home.

Why pay for moving things you don’t want in your new space? I can help you declutter, decide what furniture fits into your new home, and how to get rid of what you’re not keeping, whether it’s donating, selling, or throwing away. I can also arrange for dumpsters, pods, storage, donation pickup, and listing individual items for sale online.
Fixing Up Your Home for Sale
Buyers want to see all the home’s possibilities as they can in order for them to picture themselves living there. In addition to decluttering, I can contact, schedule and supervise all tradespeople you hire to get your home ready to sell. I can also stage your home with items you already own or arrange for professional staging.
It is human nature to fill up furniture, closets, empty bedrooms and storage space just because it’s there. But you can’t take it with you! Declutter and downsize now so your children don’t have to when you’re gone. In Sweden, they call it Death Cleaning. Your grown-up kids have their own tastes and often are not as sentimental as you are. They may not want or have space for your furniture, china, jewelry, tchotkes and collectibles.
